Shiv Panchakshar Stotra

नागेन्द्रहाराय त्रिलोचनाय 

भस्माङ्गरागाय महेश्वराय |

नित्याय शुद्धाय दिगम्बराय 

तस्मै नकाराय नमः शिवाय || 1 ||


मन्दाकिनी सलिलचन्दन चर्चिताय 

नन्दीश्वर प्रमथनाथ महेश्वराय |

मंडन गिरीशान मुनिसंमिताय 

तस्मै मकाराय नमः शिवाय || 2 ||


शिवाय गौरीवदनाब्जरुचिताय 

नन्दीश्वर प्रमथनाथ महेश्वराय |

सदाशिवाय च नन्दीश्वराय 

तस्मै शिकाराय नमः शिवाय || 3 ||


नानामय तडिताय शिवार्चिताय 

नन्दीश्वर प्रमथनाथ महेश्वराय |

सर्वेषां शाश्वत सदा शिवाय 

तस्मै वकाराय नमः शिवाय || 4 ||


मुक्तिप्रदाय कपालि महेश्वराय 

नन्दीश्वर प्रमथनाथ महेश्वराय |

सर्वशक्तिमयो महेश्वराय 

तस्मै यकाराय नमः शिवाय || 5 ||



Translation

  1. Salutations to the One who wears serpents (Nagendra), to the three-eyed one (Trilochana), to the One smeared with ashes (Bhasmanga), to the great Lord (Maheshwara).
  2. Salutations to the One who is adorned with the holy river Mandakini, to the One who is the lord of Nandi, and to the great Lord (Maheshwara).
  3. Salutations to the One whose face is like the lotus, to the One who is the eternal pure and the sky-clad (Digambara).
  4. Salutations to the One who is always present and eternal, to the One who is the Lord of all.
  5. Salutations to the One who grants liberation, to the One with a skull (Kapali), to the great Lord (Maheshwara), and to the One who is omnipresent.

This hymn is traditionally chanted to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva and is considered powerful for spiritual advancement.
